Expanded metal sheets are manufactured by
creating multiple slits in the sheet and then stretched to expand. These slits,
when expanded, create a beautiful diamond pattern in a chain-like series
throughout the sheet. This pattern strengthens the structure the sheet, making
it highly durable. Also, this process does not create any waste and is,
therefore, cost-effective.
On the other hand, perforated metal sheets
are manufactured by punching or stamping holes into the metal. These stampings
can come in different shapes and designs as desired. However, the size of the
holes determines the amount of scrap that is removed from the sheet. The cost
of production increases with the volume of scrap produced.
