What are the benefits of a fiber optic cable?

There are many benefits of a fiber optic cable. Here are some of them:

·         A fiber optic cable’s capacity to carry the amount of network bandwidth is more than that of a copper cable with similar thickness.
·         This cable is cheaper than an equivalent length of copper wire. Therefore, it saves money.
·         This cable can be drawn to smaller diameters than a traditional copper wire.
·         A fiber optic cable has higher carrying capacity than a traditional copper cable. More fibers can be added to a given-diameter cable, thereby allowing more phone lines to go over the same channel into the cable TV box.
·         This cable is non- flammable. No electricity can pass through this cable and, therefore, there’s no fire hazard.
·         A fiber optic cable weighs much less than a copper wire. Therefore, it takes less space in the ground.
·         This cable lessens the need for signal boosters. Light can travel much longer distances down a fiber cable.
