An adhesive
tape is a tape that is covered with an adhesive on one side to enable it to
stick to different materials. It is very popular for daily use. It can be used
for various purposes - from sealing envelopes to hanging posters.
Duct tape: This is a strong type of
adhesive tape and can be used in a wide variety of applications such as cloth,
cement, rubber, plastic and vinyl. It is popularly used in various home repairs
or anything that needs fastening.
Masking tape: This tape is thin and has
an easy-to-tear material. It is commonly used for packing cartons, and for covering
an area and protecting it while painting. It has a paper-like texture which
makes it possible to write on it. This tape can withstand medium to high
temperature, which makes it suitable for commercial purposes.
Electrical tape: An electrical tape is used as an insulator
against electricity. It is applied on electric cords to make them stick together
and attach them to the wall when you are installing electronic devices.
Double-sided tape: As the name implies,
this tape has sticky property on both sides. A double-sided tape is
specifically used when an object is needed to be attached to a surface. This
tape is good for hanging posters or flyers.
Foam tape: A foam tape is considerably
thicker than most other types of tape. This tape can be used for mounting and
cushioning windows.
High temperature tape: This tape is
perfect for connecting HVAC ductwork, sealing leaks in hot running equipment,
or taping objects sitting out in direct sunlight for long periods of time. Many
high temperature tapes are metallic, and some of those can even conduct
electricity.
