Tape Materials and Uses
Adhesive tape is made from several
materials such as plastic film, cloth, foam, metal foil or paper. Each variant
has a unique composition which has special uses for specific applications as
required.
Plastic
Film
Adhesive tape made from plastic film come
in two types – thermos plastics and thermostats. It comes in transparent,
colored or printed forms. Sometimes it is combined with aluminum or paper. It
can be single-layered or multilayered, according to the needs of the
application.
Cloth
Adhesive tape made from cloth materials has
high heat resistance and is exceptionally strong. Sometimes it is used as a
fabric layer to add strength to the tape.
Foam
Adhesive that uses foam as its carrier is called
foam tape. It is highly useful for mounting objects on the wall, weather-stripping,
sealing, etc.
Metal
Foil
Adhesive tape made from metal foils like aluminum
and lead can weather extreme temperatures and humidity. It is also heat
resistant.
Paper
Adhesive tape made from paper is scratch
resistant and commonly known as flat back tape. It is excellent for printing
logos or instructions on the tape. You can even write on it.
I am a tape distributer. I have an order from a client who needs Cargo Pit Tape for aircraft maintenance. Those tapes are not available with me. Can someone help me?

I have a medium-sized toy manufacturing company. I am looking for a tape to stick metals and plastics together. I need it in large quantity and on a regular basis. Can someone suggest a supplier?
